The Battle of the Imports Sets the Stage for Record Performances from the Quickest and Fastest Imports in the Country at Famoso Raceway on Sunday July 29, 2001 in Bakersfield, CA -- Only 15 Days Away!

Sea-Level Track, More Asphalted Pit Space, Bigger Grand Stands, Real Bathrooms, Free Parking, No-Wind, No-Dirt, Better Food - What More Can You Ask For?

In just 15-days, Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, CA, will be transformed into an Import and Sport Compact drag racing mecca.  Located conveniently between both southern and northern California, racers and fans from both the north and south will be able to participate in this summer's most highly anticipated Westcoast event.  Racers will be able to post quicker E.T. and higher MPH numbers than what was recently posted at Round-3 at LACR.  Fan will be able to enjoy the entire event from the huge grandstands at Famoso, where every seat is a good seat.  In addition, the fans will appreciate plenty of free parking, larger asphalted pit areas, bigger concession stands, the absence of wind and dirt, but most importantly, the restroom facilities.  That's right!  Real bathrooms that have running water and flushing toilets - I'm sure the girlfriends, the wife's, and the ladies can appreciate this...

Fans will also be treated to some of the most exciting drag racing action ever seen on the Westcoast.  Some examples are the key matchups in the Pro-Comp Class between Adam Saruwatari driving the brand new Nitto Tires sponsored Acura NSX drag car against Jimmy O'Connor driving the brand new Venom Racing sponsored Toyota Truck.   In the Venom Racing Pro-Street Class, Shawn Hillier piloting the L'Natural Honda CRX, will be defending his current title as the Quickest and Fastest "all-motor" FWD in the world.  There will be plenty of racers that will be looking to de-throne the San Gabriel Valley native.  Racers like Bisi Ezerioha (Matrix Racing), Teren King (RS Motorworks), Erick Aguilar (Erick's Racing), Norman Aubry (Erick's Racing), and the long waited re-appearance from Tony Shagday piloting the world famous, Skunk2 Racing Acura Integra.

The Turbo Magazine Pro-Import Class will definitely have the fans on their feet.  These FWD vehicles are turbocharged, nitrous injected, or even both and are netting well over 600 HP to the front wheels and over 500 FT-LB's of torque!  Racers like Adrian Sabori (JG/Edlebrock), Jojo Callos (JG/Edlebrock), Roger Scalise (Speedcamp, and Jimmy O'Connor (Venom Racing) will be battling others for a spot in the 8-car field in hopes to make "the Big Show" and walk away with BIG MONEY!

The Mothers Polishes Import Auto Tour Car Show, sponsored by Import Tuner Magazine, SPW, and Venom Performance, will be offering 21-classes and categories for owners of imports, modern compacts, trucks and even SUV's to compete for HUGE trophies and a chance to be featured on Speedvision in November of this year.  With Famoso Raceway being such a large venue, car clubs from both southern, central, and northern California are expected to definitely sellout the 250-car entry cut off.  Local fans will be treated to some of the "Fastest Bags on Earth" by Kustom Workz, featuring their orange, show winning, Mazda Pick-Up, and other feature vehicles.  Fans will also be able to see the famous Yellow Honda Civic HB show car built and owned by industry leader, L.J. Garcia (Ichibahn Motorsports), and Team Insight, led by Diana Valdez, will be representing her car club along with other car clubs like Hybrid, HDS, Interspeed, and many more!

Finestwomen.com will be launching "Version2" of their brand new website and is sure to have the crowds approval, especially with the finestwomen.com Bikini Contest.  Lovely ladies from around the way will be strutting their stuff for the crowds approval on top of the Finestwomen.com stage for cash and trophy prizes.  Successful winners may have a chance to be featured on finestwomen.com.  Ladies, this would be an excellent opportunity for you to market and advertise your website and to promote yourself.

The all new HOT 94.1-FM, formerly KISV, will also be on hand giving away promotional items to the fans.  The "Rhythm in the Valley" will be at the Battle of the Imports on Sunday afternoon, and broadcasting live from the Battle of the Imports.  HOT 94.1 will be present with their street team and select personalities spinning the latest and the greatest from the Battle DJ Booth and holding contests all afternoon long.  You won't want to miss this.
